Podkino (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a personal audio recorder that lets you capture voice notes, attach photos and contacts, optionally lock items with Face ID, and share securely. We designed Podkino so that your data stays on your device unless you choose to share or back it up.
Information We Collect
- Audio Recordings: Your recordings are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly share or back them up.
- Photos (Optional): If you choose to attach images to recordings, those images are stored locally within the app’s storage.
- Contacts (Optional): If you attach people from your contacts, we store only the minimal contact details you select (e.g., name, phone, or email) locally within the app’s storage.
- Face ID / Touch ID: Biometric data is never accessed by us; iOS only tells the app whether authentication succeeded.
- Notifications: If you enable notifications, we store your preferences on-device. We do not operate our own push servers.
- Crash/Diagnostics (Optional): If you enable system analytics, Apple may share anonymized diagnostics with us via their standard channels. We do not collect analytics ourselves.
- Speech Recognition: If you enable you can use transcripton feature on device.
Permissions and Purpose
- Microphone: Record audio.
- Photos: Attach images to a recording.
- Camera: Capture a photo to attach.
- Contacts: Attach a contact to a recording.
- Notifications: Reminders or completion toasts (optional).
- Face ID / Touch ID: Lock/unlock items (no biometric data leaves your device).
All permissions are requested on demand and only when you use the related feature.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide core functionality such as recording, organizing, and protecting your items.
- Optional features you turn on (attachments, contacts, notifications).
- Improve reliability and safety (e.g., via Apple’s crash reports if you opt in at the system level).
Data Storage & Retention
- Your content (audio, attachments, contact snippets) is stored locally on your device.
- If you use system backups (iCloud device backup) or export/share a recording, your data may be stored by those services according to their policies.
- You can delete recordings and attachments at any time from within the app. Deleting removes them from the app’s local storage.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share data when you intentionally export or share a recording, or when required by law.
Third Parties
- Apple: System frameworks (e.g., AVFoundation, Photos, Contacts, LocalAuthentication, UserNotifications). Any analytics/crash data is handled by Apple if you opt in at the OS level.
- Firebase: we use firebase for push notifications and google may store app data under their terms.
Children’s Privacy
Podkino is not directed to children under 4. If you believe a minor has provided data to us, please contact us and we will assist with deletion.
Security
- Local device security: Face ID/Touch ID lock is available on supported devices.
- We follow platform best practices and principle of least privilege for permissions.
- For disclosures or vulnerabilities, contact: riyadharro@gmail.com
Your Rights
Because your content is stored on your device, you can access, export, or delete it at any time. If you have questions about any locally-stored personal data the app may manage, contact us at riyadharro@gmail.com.
International Users
Your data typically remains on your device. If you share or back up data to a third-party service, that service’s data location and policies apply.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect improvements or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
